PS, the beach off of Goose Spit in Comox, BC out front of the military base at low tide is an epic spot to see hundreds of these guys in their natural habitat. **Bubbles and streaks in glass are normal and part of the beauty of high-quality stained glass. Bumps, dimples and creases in solder are normal, and part of the hand made aspect of soldering.

How long does it take to get my order?
We currently ship to Canada and US with Canada Post. Shipping is free for online retail orders (retail just means any product that is not wholesale). Please allow for 2 - 3 days to process your order, delivery time in addition to this is estimated at checkout. Generally your order should arrive in about a week or two depending on the shipping option you choose.

How do you price your work?
If you have watched my reels on Instagram, you might think the process of making stained glass happens quickly and easily, but in fact each piece requires 3-4 hours of skilled time to create. Each piece requires specific tools, materials and steps; art glass, solder, came (edging), copper foil, flux, patina and wax are all unique to the art of stained glass. Costs are calculated per square inch and number of cuts. Like any product, time and materials are what sets the final cost of a piece.
While there are various costs and much time involved in making a quality piece of stained glass, there is nothing so beautiful and satisfying as the beauty of the glass and colours as it shines and sparkles in the sun.
What's the deal with lead and lead-free solder?
All Half Moon Stained Glass is made with lead free solder. Safer for handling and better for the environment.
Stained glass pieces are commonly made with 60/40 solder which contains 60% tin and 40% lead.
The lead in solder in only dangerous if ingested, therefore the following recommendations are noted for lead based solder: Pieces should be kept away from children and not worn on skin. Wash your hands after handling the piece and avoid contact with mouth and eyes.
Conversely, the lead-free solder I use is made of 97% tin and 3% copper. Therefore none of the above recommendations need apply - they are all lead-free! Perfectly safe to touch and jewellery grade.
How do I hang a suncatcher?
Glass is fragile and will break if dropped or knocked about. Please place in an area that is not likely to be jostled. Be sure to hang from a secure and sturdy hook or nail. Suction cups are not recommended as they often fail.
A removable 3M Command clear hook is recommended and provided with every purchase so you can enjoy immediately! It can be placed on a window or wall and if you change your mind the sticky tab will remove easily and another sticky tab can be used. Find full instructions for using 3M Command hooks here.
Does stained glass need special care?
Each stained glass piece has been cleaned and polished and is ready to hang.
If cleaning is required over time, gently dust or polish with a soft, dry cloth such as cotton t-shirt material or microfiber. Do not use an abrasive sponge or glass cleaning liquid as it could degrade the patina on the solder.
To restore shine, apply a small amount of Mothers car wax or Pledge furniture polish and buff with a soft cloth. This only needs to be done once or twice a year – if at all.
